How To be A Good Presenter
The biggest fear we have is public speaking. Speaking in front is not easy as it makes our words mumble and it can gives us emotions of fear instead of excitement.But why we need to do this? Well of us are force to stand in front as speaker or presenter as part of our task .
Here are tips to be a better presenter, especially for the first timer who will stand in front of everybody.
1. Be knowledgeable with your topic. Research your topic, collect information so that you can speak well verse on your topic. Your comfort level in presenting the topic is what the audience is looking after you as expert.
2. Make it concise. Organize everything, Three main topic is enough to make them interested. Avoid putting sentences, but prepare flash cards to help you elaborate with your information presented.
3. Understand the topic. Do not memorize, but rather read and practice and understand it well so that you can communicate during the presentation.
4. Rehearse with a friend or in front of mirror. Practice in front of mirror so that you can visualize your self. Talk in front of a friend and family member so that you can get a feedback on your performance.
5. Relax before the presentation. It is common that everyone will be stressed before the presentation, try picture out how to satisfied the audience, relax to overcome stress.
6. Personality. Be presentable with your clothes. Appearance says it all about personality and confidence.
7. Keep eye contact. Keep an eye to many people in the audience, it will make you stable w/ your self confident.
8. Speak clearly and with good tone. Speak loudly and clearly, if possible overcome your fear by looking your audience and think they knew nothing about what you have talking about, for you to build up confidence.
9. Engage your audience. Share a related funny yet tasteful story, to make their energy high in listening to you.
10. Take time to listen to other presenter: You can learn tips and techniques to enhance your presenter's skills.
11. Take advise from the expert. Ask advise from professor or employers or from the speakers, for you to identify your strength and improve your weaknesses.
12. Be at your self. Focus on your topic with smile on your face.
13. Pray. Prayer is the best weapon, it can move the unmovable and it can turn fear into confidence. Just try God to be in your midst during the time you have delivered your presentations.
